Amazon were alot of help at scoring me this my over copy was full of pot stains from my stoner buddies OK JOKE.THIS IS CANNIBAL CORPSES BEST ALBUM BY FARCHRIS BARNES>CORPSEGRINDERAND DONT YOU FORGET IT
Im just a bigger fan of George Fisher's vocals over Chris Barnes'. Hammer Smash Face is one of my favorite Cannibal Corpse songs. Otherwise, i would've gave it a 5. Great album. Great songs.
The vocals are fine but a bit monotone, and the lyrics are pretty stupid. Honestly, I wanted to like this album; but it was a little boring for me. Butchered at Birth was way better. I'm more into Morbid Angel, Deicide, and Death and other faster bands; I wanted to like Cannibal Corpse but I'm just not a huge fan of gross-out lyrics and sub-par instruments(bassist is good though). The guitar work is unimaginative and the drumming is at best mediocre(not fast enough). I enjoyed the first three songs, but after that it went downhill.
When i first heard this album almost 15 years ago i was thinking this is almost unlistenable, Chris Barnes' voice is immpossible to decphier, but then as the years went by i realized that this was a classic, a one of a kind, everything about this album is brutal from the cover art to the song titles, u almost feel like you're breaking the law just by listening to it, and in the end thats what makes this a must have.
I guess I'm just a fan of stripped down, no holds barred jam - and always will be. Most of this bands stuff is pretty shallow but I love em anyway. Why TF this band get so much grief is beyond me. This is a good, albeit surface level CD. Killer tracks: The first 2 stand out - with the rest being quite good as well. They are a dart board for every nu metal fan out there. CC is an obvious and easy target but this CD right here kicks some fuggin ace.
